The planning for an exciting event is in progress to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in the United States. The WesternLos Angeles County Council Jamboree! This event will take place on Oct. 15 thru the 17th, 2010, at Hansen Dam Recreation Area in Lake View Terrace, CA.

Cub Scout Cup CANCELED

ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with a heavy heart that I need to announce that this year’s CUB SCOUT CUP that was scheduled for April 24 at Valley Trails needs to be cancelled. This is a fantastic event with a lot of coordination and volunteers needed to put on a event of this scale and to create a special day for all scouts. We worked closely with council and district to come up with other solutions and timing of other events were not going to let us go forward with the event this year based on the number of volunteers we have at this point. I want to thank everyone who volunteered this year and really look forward to working with you in the future. If you have registered I want to thank you and for the leaders that have already sent in funds for registration I will mail those back to you this week. Please look for announcements for future dates.

There are two files for the 2010 Camporee.
1.      Camporee packet (PDF), with all event info: complete the unit registration form and mail it to the Newhall service center with payment
2.      Patrol roster form (Excel): fill in and email to John Noonan (jmnoonan@gmail.com) per instructions found in Camporee packet
Due date for advance registration is May 12.

Well look no further because Troop 48, Canyon Country is having a Webelos and Webelos Dad Overnight event just for you.

Time: Saturday, February 28, 2010 at 10 AM to Sunday February 29th at 12 PM
Place: Vasquez Rocks, (From the Antelope Freeway (14) near Canyon Country, exit on Agua Dulce Road. Head north 1.5 miles. Agua Dulce swings west and you join Escondido Canyon Road, proceeding 0.25 miles to the signed Vasquez Rocks County Park entrance on your right. (Lat:34.48596 Lon:-118.31394)
