Memorial Day Flag Placement

May 12, 2009 by Webmaster

Help us honor our Veterans by placing flags on their graves prior to the Memorial Day Ceremony.  This is a great pack or troop activity.

When: Saturday, May 23rd
Check-in: 9 A.M.
Where: Eternal Valley Memorial Park, just off Sierra Hwy, west of Newhall Ave (formerly San Fernando Rd.)

Please come in uniform

The Elks Lodge will provide lunch to all those who help. Please have one person from your pack or troop RSVP by May 17th to Sharon Ventrice: (661)755-8629 or at    sventrice@sbcglobal.net
Everyone is also invited to the Memorial Day Program at Eternal Valley on Monday, May 25th at 10 A.M.

Eternal Valley will give each group a pilot hole maker for the flags.  It is important to make a pilot hole to prevent the flagsticks from breaking.  For larger groups I am suggesting you bring some large screwdrivers or metal tent stakes so more scouts could be placing the flags at a time.

Special Note:

There will be a drop-off box for items to donate to our Troops overseas.  There will also be cards to sign to be sent to our Military.
